For everyday potting
Multi-purpose compost with John Innes is intended for a range of general planting tasks, including potting on plants and filling suitable garden containers. It gives you a prepared growing medium to use around the rootball when moving a plant into its new pot.
Choose the right compost
Check the plant’s requirements before you start. Acid-loving plants such as camellias and rhododendrons need an ericaceous mix instead of this general-purpose compost. Use a container with drainage holes and water the plant before repotting. Set it into fresh compost, fill around the roots, gently firm and water in.
Bag size and use
