Why Choose Green Beech for Topiary Cones?

Elegant, Architectural Appearance

Green Beech (Fagus sylvatica) is an excellent choice for topiary cones due to its dense foliage and ability to maintain its shape. The vibrant green leaves create a striking visual contrast, making these cones a standout feature in any garden.

Excellent Tolerance to Pruning

Green Beech is known for its tolerance to regular pruning, which is essential for maintaining the precise conical shape. With consistent care, you can easily sculpt and sustain beautiful topiary cones that enhance your garden’s aesthetic.

Creating and Caring for Green Beech Topiary Cones

Crafting and maintaining Green Beech Topiary Cones requires dedication and the right techniques. Here are some tips to help you create and care for these elegant garden features:
  • Regular Pruning: Regularly trim your Green Beech topiary cones to maintain their conical shape and encourage dense growth.

Planting and care

Choose a position in full sun or partial shade. Keep the soil moist while allowing excess water to drain freely.

Water thoroughly after planting and check soil moisture regularly during establishment, particularly in dry or windy weather. Keep competing weeds clear and avoid piling mulch against stems.

Check support ties as the plant grows. Maintain the supplied shape with pruning appropriate to the species, taking care not to remove more old wood than that species can regenerate.

What you’ll receive

Supplied according to the option you select for this product.

Root Type: Rootball.
Cone Size: 170-200cm.

Delivery and unpacking

On arrival, carefully remove outer packaging and check the plants against your order. Handle plants by their pot or root ball where possible, rather than pulling on stems or branches.

Check root moisture and water if needed. Until planting, keep the plants upright in a sheltered position and prevent roots from drying out. If supplied bare-root, keep the roots covered and moist and plant promptly when conditions allow.

Larger plants and root balls can be heavy. Arrange suitable help and equipment for safe unloading and positioning.

Delivery arrangements and any charges are those confirmed for your order.

Important information

Keep fallen beechnuts away from children and dogs, as they can cause stomach illness. Do not allow horses to eat beechmast: serious, sometimes fatal, equine poisoning is documented.
