White Willow Hedging Plants - Salix Alba

Salix alba, or White Willow, is a fast-growing, deciduous tree that provides dense foliage, making it perfect for creating privacy hedges, windbreaks, or screens. It thrives in moist, waterlogged soils and offers year-round interest with its spring catkins, summer greenery, and vibrant autumn colours. Highly beneficial to wildlife, White Willow is a great choice for natural boundaries, erosion control, and wetland gardens.

Choosing this plant for your space

Start by measuring the length of the proposed hedge and the space available on either side. Consider how the hedge will sit alongside boundaries and other plants, then choose a starting size for the layout.

Position and soil

Choose a sunny position. It is listed for moist soil, including sites where drainage is slower.

Choosing your size

The option you select determines the height supplied. Use the listed measurements to plan the quantity and spacing for your scheme before ordering.

Choose full sun and moist or wet ground. Avoid planting close to buildings: this willow draws water from a wide area.

Supplied according to the option you select for this product.

Root Type: Bare Root.
Height: as selected when ordering.

On arrival, carefully remove outer packaging and check the plants against your order. Handle plants by their pot or root ball where possible, rather than pulling on stems or branches.

Check root moisture and water if needed. Until planting, keep the plants upright in a sheltered position and prevent roots from drying out. If supplied bare-root, keep the roots covered and moist and plant promptly when conditions allow.

Delivery arrangements and any charges are those confirmed for your order.
