Full Description

Golden Delicious apple trees, scientifically known as Malus Domestica 'Golden Delicious', are not only a wonderful addition to any British garden but also a celebrated contributor to local wildlife and the ecosystem. This deciduous tree is famous for its sweet and crisp apples, which are golden to light green in colour.

Choosing this plant for your space

This product is offered in half standard form. Consider where the crown will sit in relation to nearby planting and paths, and allow space around the tree as it develops.

Position and soil

Choose a position in full sun or partial shade. Well-drained soil is suitable, including soil that retains moisture while allowing excess water to drain away.

Choosing your size

The option you select determines the stem girth supplied. Use the listed measurements to plan the quantity and spacing for your scheme before ordering.

Planting and care

Choose a position in full sun. Keep the soil moist while allowing excess water to drain freely.

Water thoroughly after planting and check soil moisture regularly during establishment, particularly in dry or windy weather. Keep competing weeds clear and avoid piling mulch against stems.

What you’ll receive

Supplied according to the option you select for this product.

Clear Stem Height: 80-100cm (Half Standard).
Stem Girth: as selected when ordering.
Root Type: Pot Grown.

Delivery and unpacking

On arrival, carefully remove outer packaging and check the plants against your order. Handle plants by their pot or root ball where possible, rather than pulling on stems or branches.

Check root moisture and water if needed. Until planting, keep the plants upright in a sheltered position and prevent roots from drying out. If supplied bare-root, keep the roots covered and moist and plant promptly when conditions allow.

Larger plants and root balls can be heavy. Arrange suitable help and equipment for safe unloading and positioning.

Delivery arrangements and any charges are those confirmed for your order.

Important information

Apple and crab-apple flesh is edible, but remove cores and seeds before offering fruit to children or pets. Do not chew or grind the seeds, or feed foliage and pruning waste to animals. A few accidentally swallowed whole seeds usually pose much less risk than chewed or crushed seeds.
