Our standard pleach frames are sized at 120cm x 120cm, but we also offer custom-made frames that can reach up to 180cm in width or height.
A minimum order of 3 custom frames, totaling £150, is required. Due to their personalized nature, custom pleached trees are non refundable.

Pleached trees are available in various stem heights, which determine where the canopy or framed part of the tree begins. This “clear stem” area is measured from the tree’s base to the start of the frame, where the first branches and foliage appear. Our pleached trees are offered in 100cm, 150cm, 180cm, and 200cm clear stem heights. These may also be referred to as half standard (circa 100-150cm) or full standard (circa 180-200cm). When selecting the ideal overall height, including the stem and frame size, keep in mind that young, freshly pleached trees often do not have full foliage coverage across the entire frame height and width.
The stem girth measures the circumference of the tree trunk, providing an indicator of the tree’s thickness and maturity. Generally, a larger stem girth signifies a more mature tree with greater foliage coverage. Young, freshly pleached trees may not fully cover the pleach frame initially, but with proper care, they will thrive in the upcoming growing seasons. When choosing your stem girth, consider this growth potential. Our pleached trees are available in stem girths of 6-8cm, 8-10cm, 10-12cm, 12-14cm, and 14-16cm.
When choosing a pleached tree, the ideal clear stem height and stem girth depend on your specific preferences and needs. For a budget-friendly option, consider a younger tree with a 6-8cm stem girth. With proper care, these trees will grow to fill their frame in the coming years. For a more immediate screening effect, select a tree with a minimum stem girth of 14cm or more, depending on the species. If you’re using the tree to screen over a wall or fence, the height will dictate the appropriate clear stem.
Our most popular choice is a pleached tree with a 12-14cm stem girth and a clear stem height of 180cm. This combination offers a balanced solution, providing good height, some initial screening in the first growing season, and excellent value for money. It caters to various landscaping needs and is a practical, cost-effective choice for enhancing your outdoor space.
